Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in Jersey

Possibly the most important part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations for Jersey will be hosting the most southerly jubilee beacon in the British Isles. The beacon will be lit at St. Clements Church on the 4th of June - but by whom has not yet been decided. Another proud moment for Jersey is the "Howard D", Jersey's first motorised lifeboat, active during the German occupation in the war, and named after the lost son of a Jersey businessman and philanthropist, will participate in the Thames Jubilee pageant as part of the flotilla of over one thousand vessels.  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12971242

As a footnote - 10 minutes walk from the town bus station can be found the quite delightful Howard Davis Park - also donated to the island by the Davis family many years ago. A lovely park to relax in during the day and venue for occasional open air evening concerts during the summer.
